Acoustic streaming enhanced mass transfer at a wall

The influence of an impinging acoustic streaming jet on wall mass transfer is studied both experimentally and numerically. idea to show that acoustically-driven jets generated by ultrasounds can be used enhance phenomena at a distance, creating localized friction zones. An experimental setup has been developed consisting in cavity containing electrolytic solution [Fe(CN)6]4−/[Fe(CN)6]3−. A forced ultrasound beam impinges the upper instrumented with electrodes, which influenced measured electrochemical technics. Numerical simulations flow same configuration are also performed. significant enhancement electrodes (represented Sherwood number Sh) injected power (quantified Grashof Grac) observed. order magnitude expected coefficient proposed basis Leveque law momentum budget considerations. Scaling laws involving numerical (Sh), shear stress (Grac) finally derived.
